As a first grade teacher, I am well aware of the power of positive role models in the lives of children. Little kids look up to big kids, they want to be like them. Impact Day is so important because it allows for a connection to take place that may not have happened otherwise. The mentors spoke hope, life, and encouragement into my young students. Our program will prove to impact multiple generations of students and community members. The Elementary students will be given guidance and direction from some of it’s most influential voices, the local High School Mentors. The High School Mentors will be rewarded with skills in communication, leadership, empathy, public speaking and most of all, a sense of fullness that can only come from helping lift others up. The community mentors who contribute to our program will feel the pride of having added value to the best and brightest your district has to offer, thereby building solid relationships between these exemplary community leaders, educators and students within your district.
Mentors Empowered brings all of our knowledge and resources to bear in order to achieve our primary goal within your district, which is to help every student rise above the particular adversities faced in education, to develop excellence in character and academics. Different children, different cultures, different demographics and different obstacles require different solutions. We recognize the diversity within our schools and model each program to fit the community we are serving. How is that possible? It’s possible because we equip the very kids within your community, that have overcame the obstacles unique to your community, to lift up the next generation.
We pour into your best and brightest High School students to ensure they bring the best version of themselves into their mentoring. Experts from across various fields participate in our training program used at each of the districts we empower.
Just as we recuit the best high school students in your district, we also recruit the best collegiate and community mentors to participate in our program. Our goal is to ensure, at every level, we are only bringing the best into this cycle of empowerment and inspiration.
We know that your district is already putting all of it’s current resources to work for the benefit of your students. Our wish is to act as a force multiplier, asking the right questions and getting the appropriate information up front so we can hit the ground running once we are on site within your schools.
